Eleanor & Park

4/5⭐

Definitely recommend, it’s a MUST READ for sure…

Also On: GoodReads

Synopsis: Two misfits.
One extraordinary love.
Eleanor… Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough…Eleanor.
Park… He knows she’ll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There’s a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises…Park.
Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try.

Personal Opinion:

My first review did justice, and I am here go attempt to make it better. I am currently reminiscing and realizing how shattered I am from this and it’s been a good 3-6 months. I still haven’t swept up the remaining glass fragments of my heart. I fell in LOVE, absolute love with Eleanor and Park. The character development was more than I expected.

I had so much hope and it was so blissful GAH. I wanted what they had so badly, and they we’re just undeniably amazing. This book has changed some perspectives in my life, from what Eleanor has gone through herself. I read this book in an extremely short amount of time and I want to re-read it and re-read it until every word is ingrained into my mind for eternity.

Along with the re-reading would come great suffrage so I probably won’t consistently torture myself with that sort of ending. I do have to say…If you are searching for a book full of meaning and appreciative matter then you have to read this. It may throw your world off balance and make you rethink your entire life. It sure did for me, y’all don’t even know. I thought such an amazing book deserves a MUCH better review.

There’s not a lot that can be said without it becoming full of spoilers, so that’s the best I have. I do wish it was easier to explain how wonderful and heartfelt this contemporary novel is. It isn’t insta-love but the feelings do form in a short amount of time.
Now,
I am gonna go have a meltdown and cry for the next 7 hours.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I honestly didn’t think I would like this book (the first 2 pages I was like hmmm) I kind of wanted to dislike it. but then I kept an open mind and read. I started this book in approximately…*counts* 7 hours ago and just finished it. (its 8pm) I adored both Eleanor and Park, they were very wonderful characters.

The whole stepdad thing was devastating and the story was just filled with feeling. This makes me want to read more Rainbow Rowell books, which I didn’t think I would like her writing style. Eleanor and Park changed that 100% I loved it!
