🌺Blogger Recognition Award🌼

Should I type in…PINK? orrrrrrr…Yellow? Yuck! No not yellow. How about…Green? No. Orange? or Orange? Red? Red? What is a good color for this?? Blue? Blue? Blue/Gray? Blue? Purple? Maroon-ish? Ignore my struggling.

First off, the picture is so friggin’ beautiful and boho? I can’t breathe. It’s making me crave SPRING and it’s falling…into fall can I just enjoy the sun for a moment?!

I dunno if I like the pink or not, but I’ll go with it.

Okay, I’ll stop wasting your time and get on with this. ⏳

Thank you so much Emma for honoring me with this elegance! ❤

The Beginning of A.T.B {Ash The Bookworm}:

A little backstory here, I have tried blogging so many times. They never lasted, it’s difficult to keep going when your blogs are not getting traffic. You put all this time, work, blood, sweat tears, etc. into it and nobody comments/likes/shares and 9 chances out of 10, you’ll get discouraged and maybe even become inactive. -I will link my old ones at the end of this if you’re curious-

This summer was different than all my others. I didn’t spend any time with friends, I stayed home and read, I posted on GoodReads, and then a few weeks ago I went traveling around a few states. This wasn’t my typical fun-in-the-sun Summer Break.

Back in February I started on GoodReads, which was introduced to me by a friend I met through school (I’m homeschooled) and I will forever thank her, but we don’t talk much anymore. She got me hooked on reviewing books and sharing my opinion. I constantly saw blog links and wordpress this, wordpress that. I checked multiple blogs out and even looked through the themes just to get an idea. Immediately intimidated I stayed away from the “Create a Blog” Section.

I met a great friend…Solly on GoodReads and loved his blog. (It’s so perfect, your eyes will thank me, CHECK IT OUT, he’s the most amazing human being ever.) He’s a gigantic inspiration to me, with his quirks and positivity, he’s all around the greatest. I promise you, The Bookish King is way more deserving of this award than I am. Anyways, wordpress refused to let me follow him since I didn’t have a WordPress account…so I made one. His blog was worth me being brave and doing this even though it daunted me.

Within me making an account, I had to make a blog. It took me a few days to figure out how things worked and how to make it look semi-decent. Even so, it looked terrible.

Sophia did a free E-course called Blogging For Better. (Check it out, it’s linked in her name) It took my boring old blog, and flipped it into something very simple but bohemian-ish. She said it reminded her of campfires and offered up wonderful advice. I took it all, I wanted to soak in as much as possible and incorporate it into my blog. I have to thank her because my blog is beautiful now and I’m so grateful.

Even with the rough beginning, it was encouraging to see people from different countries were visiting my blog early on. The numbers increased with the change of theme and added elegance. Now that’s what I call a GLO-UP!

I wrote up a specific layout for my reviews, and scheduled posts to go up at least 2-3 times a week at 6AM. I try to stay as organized and scheduled as possible so my blog is never inactive for long periods of time. So overall, my blog seems to be thriving, and I’m so thankful for every single follower and supporter. The numbers don’t matter, the love does! That’s how Ash The Bookworm came to be. ❤ (I apologize for it being hella long)

My Hopefully Helpful Suggestions and Words of Encouragement:

  1.  Stay Positive, in the beginning it can be tough but if you stay true to who you are and be honest, you’ll get far.
  2. Stay Creative, use your imagination, find your inner humor, your quirks, your personality and apply it to your posts, it goes hand in hand with being yourself.
  3. Stay Expressive, if you’re going for a more serious blog-type: keep it serious. If you’re going for lighthearted and bubbly: include your natural humor, add Hashtags if you’re into that, keep it light.
  4. Stay Simple, you don’t want to overcrowd your pages with widgets and unnecessary things, try to choose a color palette that compliments each other.

Here’s To The Bloggers Who Deserve Recognition:

Thank you all for being so wonderful and supporting my blog and I. I’m so grateful. Again, thank you Emma for awarding me!
